The New EQ Charts Are Here!

EQ PlayWelcome to Slacker’s EQ charts for the week of Wednesday, September 15th. Take a look at the full charts here.

These charts track the most listened to, “hearted,” and engaging tracks across all genres amongst millions of Slacker music fans. These are the only charts that truly measure how much you love the music that you hear on Slacker, instead of how much it gets played or promoted. Here are some insights from this week’s charts.

On the Overall EQ chart, which measures the most engaging songs with Slacker’s entire audience, across all genres, we see Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” debut on the chart in its first week of release. Lorde’s “Royals” continues its historic run up the charts, moving up 6 spots to crack the top 5, and Cedric Gervais’ remix of Lana Del Rey’s “Summertime Sadness” makes the biggest jump of the week, moving up 30 spots to land at #18.

Slacker’s Electronic chart is a case study in EDM’s continued crossover appeal and popularity. 7 of the top 10 songs on the Electronic chart also appear on Slacker’s Overall and Pop charts—most notably Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” and Lorde’s “Royals,” which check in at nos. 1 and 6, respectively.

Katy Perry’s “Roar” holds on to the number one spot on the Pop chart for the second week in a row, but she could be unseated next week if Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” continues to engage Slacker listeners as strongly as it did this week; it moves up 12 spots to number 3.

On the Alt/Indie chart, Lorde’s “Royals” is number 2 and her song “Bravado” debuts at number 38. And after being featured as a Slacker “Song Stuck In My Head” last week, Coldplay’s “Atlas” makes a massive debut at #5.

Rich Homie Quan makes the biggest jump on the Hip Hop/R&B chart—“Type Of Way” moves up 10 spots to land at number 28. On the Country chart, Dierks Bentley’s ”I Hold On” makes it’s debut at number 40, up 13 spots.

You can hear Slacker’s top 40 songs this week on a countdown hosted by Parker here:, and you can check back next Wednesday to see how your favorite songs engaged millions of Slacker music fans throughout the US and Canada!
