Ariana Grande Was Holding Back Some Important Info

Ariana Grande just dropped a brand new song, Focus, and a video where she went platinum blonde.

And just when I had thought that was the most exciting Ariana news of the week, she dropped a bombshell on us – revealing the mystery man who provided the chorus vocals is none other than Jamie Foxx.

Proving once again that Jamie is a man of many talents. He can even pull off a blonde wig! So WHY wasn’t he in the video, again?

Does It Seem Like I Write About Taylor Swift A Lot?

It kind of does, doesn’t it? But I promise, this blog post isn’t about my obsession with Taylor Swift.

It’s about Harry Styles’ obsession with Taylor Swift.

harry taylor

Flashback to fall of 2012, when Tarry (or Haylor, whatever your preference) fell for each other. Their relationship only lasted through January of 2013, but that was enough time for Taylor to source some new song material. 2 years later she released 1989, which had one track, Style, that seemed like it could have been about Harry, just a guess, IDK. Style was a pretty big hit for Tay, which is why this weekend, when One Direction released their new song Perfect, it sounded strangely familiar. Click on their smirking faces below to hear it.

Just in case you couldn’t quite tell from the song alone, check out this mashup of the two tracks that one fan created – give it at least until “You’ve got that James Dean daydream look in your eye…” vs. “But if you like causing trouble up in hotel rooms…” and tell me you don’t hear the similarities. TELL ME YOU DON’T HEAR IT.

For the record, Harry DID write Perfect, and says:

“‘Perfect’ is for sure a love song, but it’s quite a spontaneous love song. It’s not one about thinking through too much, being like, ‘Hey, I want to be with you for the rest of my life.’ It’s like well, you know, ‘This could be fun.’”

So this is kind of nice. They’re mutually acknowledging that they had fun together, and for once, Taylor isn’t the creepy ex who made things weird by writing a song about a guy, because he wrote one about her too. Awwww… Tay, you know what’s up.

Tay’s Got To Live With The Bad Blood Now

Taylor Swift came clean in her recent interview with GQ and it turns out, claiming Bad Blood was about her rift with Katy Perry was just a diversionary tactic. Regarding her statement in the September 2014 Rolling Stone feature, Taylor says:

“You’re in a Rolling Stone interview, and the writer says, ’Who is that song about? That sounds like a really intense moment from your life.’ And you sit there, and you know you’re on good terms with your ex-boyfriend, and you don’t want him — or his family — to think you’re firing shots at him. So you say, ’That was about losing a friend.’ And that’s basically all you say.”

So Katy took the fall, but according to Tay, her conscience is clear.

“I never said anything that would point a finger in the specific direction of one specific person, and I can sleep at night knowing that. I knew the song would be assigned to a person, and the easiest mark was someone who I didn’t want to be labeled with this song. It was not a song about heartbreak. It was about the loss of friendship.”

WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN???

Unfortunately for Taylor, the Internet is a thing, which means we can look back to see exactly what it is she told Rolling Stone last year.

“For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ’Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?’… She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me.”

SOOOOO…. NOT as ambiguous as Tay might want us to believe. And more importantly, now we have to start figuring out who Bad Blood is REALLY about! Any guesses? Tweet @ParkerOnSlacker to share yours!
