Rihanna’s Most Shocking Look Yet

Seems like Rihanna isn’t just creating art with her music – she’s also inspiring it. Don’t believe me? Just check out the giant, headless cutout of Ri that’s on display at The Berlin Biennale For Contemporary Art.

Headless-Rihanna

Sooooo… arty.

The work is from Columbian artist Juan Sebastian Pelaez, who has been making waves since 2014 with his unusual offerings. This is the artist’s first piece to be unveiled from his latest collection, and is titled Ewaipanoma (Rihanna). But Rihanna isn’t the only celeb getting decapitated for art.

The 2015 Miss Universe Pageant

“Ewaipanoma” is the name of a mythical race of headless humanoids supposedly discovered by English explorer Walter Raleigh in Venezuela at the end of the 16th century. Berlin Biennale’s website notes that Peláez’s work features “upright, oversize photo-cutouts of headless human bodies—captured in athletic positions, sporting bikini swimwear, or posing in the limelight in glitzy, bling gowns—with faces surreally integrated into their chests. Both the bodies and faces are sourced from pop queens and soccer stars from the Caribbean or Latin America.”

What do you think? Creepy or cool? No comment so far from Ri-Ri herself, but I imagine her response looks something like this.
