Special Album of the Week – Born in the U.S.A

BRUCE5-472x472To celebrate the 4th of July holiday, we’re featuring a classic American album, Born In The U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen.

Released in 1984, Born In The U.S.A. became the best-selling album of 1985 in the US,  produced a record seven Top 10 singles  – an achievement tied only with Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814.

The album also sold over 30 million copies worldwide and was rated the 86th-greatest album of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. Aside from its mass appeal, critical acclaim and chart topping success, “The Boss” has always been a symbol of the American spirit and true American icon – making the album a perfect choice for this week.

You can hear “Born In The U.S.A.” all week on demand as the Album Of The Week on Slacker.
