We’ve got some new music for you on Slacker and right now from some indie/alternative favorites. It seems some artists are dusting off the studio pipes and getting back down to business. Pixies-472x472

First, we have the Pixies. Just two weeks after announcing that Kim Deal had left the band, Pixies have released “Bagboy”, their first new song in 9 years.

They’ve also announced that Kim Shattuck of the Muffs will replace Deal for their upcoming world tour. The band says they will be playing “the most wide-ranging concert set-lists of Pixies music in the band’s career.”¬†You can hear “Bagboy” now on Slacker’s New Indie First!

Beck-472x472Beck is also back at it with his first new music since 2008′s “Modern Guilt.”

His new track “Defriended” was released as a single; he plans to release two albums this year, one acoustic and one more in line with Beck’s electro/avant-pop style. You can hear Beck’s new music–including “Defriended”– and more of tomorrow’s biggest songs today on Slacker’s New Alternative First here.
